The Department of Ecology should speedily complete the environmental study for the Millennium Bulk Terminals.
The EIS should acknowledge that Millennium is situated in a "heavy industrial" zone. If not developed as a coal export facility its development will have similar impacts in terms of rail impacts and possibly more negative impacts in terms of road congestion and/or emissions if developed into a manufacturing facility.
As you well know, an EIS is supposed to take a "hard look at environmental consequences" and reach a decision based on the facts presented. The scope of this document should be limited to the immediate impacted areas so we can keep moving forward. Hundreds of people with families are not only waiting but depending on having the security of a long-term, good-paying job.
Sincerely, Virgil Rittenhouse Virgil Rittenhouse email@example.com
