Oct 23, 2013
Director Elaine Placido 207 4th Ave. N. Kelso, WA 98626
Dear Director Placido,
Please accept these scoping comments for the environmental impact statement for the Millennium Bulk Terminal (MBTL) proposal for Longview, WA.
My wife and I have lived in London, Athens, Singapore (short time), New Jersey, North Carolina, Texas, and now Hood River. The Columbia River Gorge is the most beautiful of the above areas and is deserving of federal and state protection from those individuals and companies who wish to pollute it. Furthermore, the prevailing westerly winds in the Gorge from China and other Asian Countries does not need to include coal smoke. Please consider the future of the Gorge by denying transport of coal and its inevitable pollution of the US by denying rights to transport this product through a Treasure of the World.
Sincerely yours,
John L. Kirkland
