The trade industry is one of the bright spots in an otherwise bleak economy. Please approve the coal export terminal at Cowlitz County and speed up the environmental study to help get our economy moving again.

Coal should not be considered toxic especially in regards to the elements / minerals contained in coal. Please note the soil samples reported by Oregon DEQ during the Boardman coal terminal hearings, all contain naturally occurring amounts of mercury, arsenic, selenium, etc. higher than what is found in western U.S. coal. There the study showed that exiting natural dirt was more toxic than western coal.

I can't think of one good reason why this port shouldn't move forward. I hope my comments will be considered and added to those of others asking for approval of this great project.

Sincerely, Joe Somogyi Joe Somogyi Joe.somogyi@rosebudmining.com
