Dear U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, WA Department of Ecology, and Cowlitz County Commission:

In these days of climate catastrophes, we should not be building more fossil fuel and nuclear infrastructure. Why are you even considerint construction of a coal export terminal at Longview, WA which would transport coal on trains and ships throughout the Northwest?

Amory Lovins points out that $5 trillion we need to spend on fixing our energy structure would best be spent on the cheapest and cleanest buildout of energy efficiency and renewable (solar, wind, geothermal) energy sources. It will also keep the money local, unlike what you are contemplating.

I urge you to watch one of these videos of his talk: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lmkfztMtZs4 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u-Kq89M0t18 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZHOyfyGwpes

I urge you to consider these impacts in the scope of the Environmental Impact Statement.

Thank you.
