U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Seattle District 4735 E. Marginal Way South Seattle, WA 98134

Dear Seattle District,

Considering coal? YOU CAN'T BE SERIOUS!

Coal is finished as an energy source.

You would do well to invest in renewable energy, the way of the future.

Coal is destructive, dangerous, and unhealthful to produce; dirty to transport; and filthy, toxic, and polluting to burn.

Do you know this?

I strongly oppose the construction of a coal export terminal at Longview, WA, which could transport coal on trains and ships throughout the Northwest.

Any economic benefits would be transitory. Instead, put people to work building solar electric facilities in eastern Washington, Montana, and Wyoming.

We do not need more noise and congestion, air pollution, water pollution, harm to human health and the environment. Those are the way of the past.

Be smart. Look to the future. Encourage clean and renewable energy sources.

I urge you to consider these impacts in the scope of the Environmental Impact Statement.

Thank you.

Sincerely,

Mr. RAYMOND PARK 5075 Park West Ave San Diego, CA 92117-1048
