Nov 6, 2013

Decision Makers

Dear Makers,

I strongly oppose the construction of a coal export terminal at Longview, WA, which would transport coal on trains and ships throughout the Northwest.

I attended the Tacoma Washington hearing on the Longview Coal terminal but was not lucky enough to be able to speak.

Aside from the localized environmental impacts for this coal terminal facility, there are much larger global environment impact consequences. The green house gas consequences from burning this coal wherever it is shipped will not only severely affect us locally in Washington, but world wide. We have to curb the use of coal everywhere if the planet as we know it is to survive. This is a clear place to start.

I urge you to consider these many negative impacts in the scope of the Environmental Impact Statement. Please don't let this private enterprise, short term profits driven terminal accelerate the global climate change crisis!!!

Thank you for your careful consideration of the global consequences.

Sincerely,

Mr. Court Olson 15817 SE 26th St Bellevue, WA 98008-5445
