Army Corp of Engineers and Washington Officials: I am writing you to urge you to deny the permission to allow the transport of all of the additional coal that would result if these terminals are approved. There are increasingly a large number of citizens who are uniting in opposition to this increase in coal transport as well as the increase in coal mining. There are many consequences to allowing such increased coal train traffic through all the communities, not to mention the effects of increased coal burning on the atmosphere. We must decrease our carbon emissions by 10% a year if we are to have a chance at stopping the rapid temperature increase of our climate. This is more important than any other environmental issue right now and the anticipated mass destruction and extinction of life on this earth that will result is too real to ignore. COAL EMISSIONS ARE THE NUMBER ONE SOURCE OF CARBON POLLUTION!! Thank you for your consideration in this matter. We look to wise leadership to make decisions that protect and benefit the majority of the people. Marta Meengs Missoula, MT mmeengs77@gmail.com
