U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and Washington Department of Ecology representatives,

I am concerned about a number of aspects of the proposed coal export scheme. I believe its impacts should be addressed in as broad a manner as possible - not just local direct impacts such as coal dust effects on health but also a global perspective on climate change. I also feel this scheme could seriously impair the ability of our rail system to handle existing local traffic. My fear is that railroads would find these unit trains of coal so lucrative that they would abandon smaller deliveries of things like agricultural chemicals to the Columbia Basin and Palouse areas. Local rail lines are a key to future sustainability of the region and it would be unfortunate if these were abandoned in an unrestricted frenzy of corporate profit taking.

Thank you for considering this possibly different perspective which I believe needs a thorough evaluation in the EIS.
