Dear Sirs,

Shipping coal by rail is going exactly backwards. It is taking a short-sighted view instead of considering the long-term prosperity of the northwest. Apart from the inevitable spill (you know it is going to happen), consider the effects of coal dust on wildlife and human health. You know this is a bad idea. It doesn't take a degree in rocket science to figure that out.

It is time for government to stop panderng to the special interests and do the sensible and the right thing and not allow coal to be shipped through the pristine glory of Washington and Idaho/
