Submission Text
As I testified in Spokane the increased coal train traffic will have a very detrimental effect on the shipment of agricultural products, particularly small grains. Already, for the past couple years grain has been stored in huge mounds on the ground at shipping points due to the lack of rail cars inturn due in large part to the increased coal traffic. The impact on dozens of Montana towns and cities, most of which have the only major road in the area and are crossed by the track(s) will result negatively on the social and economic well being of these communities. Environmentally, the earth, air and water can no longer sustain the assult of increased coal development and Montana as well as Washington and other states will suffer the consequences.
