Greetings to all involved in deliberations related to this important matter: We know that burning coal, like burning any fossil fuel, heats up our atmosphere and causes global warming. We are experiencing the effects of ocean and atmospheric warming more each day, and the intensity of Typhoon Haiyan is just one more proof. We have to get away from using coal and move to renewable energy sources which don't pollute. The United States should be taking the lead on these efforts. We should not have any new coal mining or shipping facilities, and we should phase out the ones that already exist. We should not build this plant in Longview, WA or anywhere else in the world. -Marilyn Thornton
