The environmental objections to this do not exist - they are based on fear. Coal from Powder River is coated with a glycerin-type agent which prevents coal dust. Any derailment means some black rocks are found, not coal damaging anything. Powder River looks the same on both sides - coal vs not mining. The terminal has promised to provide solutions for possible railroad crossing delays, i.e. in Camas, WA, so the public will not be inconvenienced.
The benefits far outweigh these unfounded fears. Jobs, income, are so needed here!
