My name is Chom Greacen and I am a San Juan County resident and property owner. I am a consumer of commercial and/or recreational fish and shellfish, and I enjoy harvesting and eating seaweeds. I am concerned about the potential impacts from the proposed Millennium Bulk Terminals at Longview to the health and future of the recreational fishing and shellfish industry in San Juan County. Please thoroughly study the following: What would be the adverse impacts from ocean acidification associated with the burning of the coal (and the increased CO2 emissions) that is proposed to be exported from the Millennium bulk terminal in Longview? What would be the costs of the increased ocean acidification’s adverse impacts on recreational and commercial shellfish? What would be the adverse impacts to the spawning of shellfish for recreational and commercial harvest? What would be the adverse impacts to the wildlife that feed on shellfish? What would be the adverse impacts to the pteropods that comprise much of the diet of juvenile salmon and all the associated adverse impacts to the food chain?
