As a pediatrician who works at Legacy Salmon Creek north of Vancouver, Washington, I care for a lot of LK families. It is false economy to think that the few jobs created there outweigh the environmental impact on our planet, or that these jobs wouldn't be much better put into alternative energies. Concerns for their future health makes me strongly opposed to the proposed Millennium Bulk Coal Terminal in Longview. We must act to do everything we can at every level to slow the speed of climate change. It is our responsibility to preserve and protect our air and water for our children's futures. We must stop investing in building more coal terminals and increase our focus on alternative energies. In this way, China is ahead of us. Thank you for your attention. Dr. Virginia Feldman MD, FAAP.
