Submission Text Sent:Tuesday, October 29, 2013 11:15 PM Subject:Millennium's coal export scoping
Millennium Bulk Terminals has proposed a coal export terminal at Longview that is both environmentally-sound and economically beneficial. I ask that you approve this project and the environmental study without delay. Coal is not toxic in water - coal is not soluble and chemical bonds are only released through burning. The DOE approved water treatment facility at the old Reynolds aluminum site (now MBTL) has large water filters that contain anthracite coal to clean the water. Please note the final water polishing step before being discharged to the river is coal and has been for decades. If the purpose of the Environmental Impact Study is to look at environmental impacts above and beyond what exist at the site today, then no study or change is needed in regards to coal and the water discharge permit. Thank you for accepting comments for this important proposal. The Millennium project will do a great deal for the economic outlook of this country. Let's get Americans back to work! Sincerely, Alice Dunlap
