Dear U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, WA Department of Ecology, and Cowlitz County Commission:
I strongly oppose the construction of a coal export terminal at Longview, WA.
It's time to let coal phase out. It's being replaced by natural gas in this country. Stop catering to the coal industry and let the rest of the world get cleaned up and start drilling for natural gas. Coal has always been dirty, so why encourage the rest of the shrinking world to make more use of it, when they should be modernizing and using cleaner fuels as we are starting to do?
I urge you to consider these impacts in the scope of the Environmental Impact Statement.
Thank you.
