Our planet's ecosystems are suffering from the abuse heaped on it by us humans. Extracting, transporting, and especially burning coal are activities which can no longer be permitted if we want to have a planet that can sustain human life. CO2 is at dangerous levels, and no country is doing enough to reverse it. We in the USA must take the lead since we were the biggest polluters, up until recently, when China took over that disgraceful title of biggest polluter.
For the sake of our kids and grandkids, do not allow any more coal to be extracted or burned. Keep it in the ground. Develop new energy sources instead of spending billions on wars.
