I appreciate being able to comment on the Longview port proposal and wish to add my support to those who wish to see this terminal open and operating as soon as possible. Basic economic principles already tells us that not one ton more of coal will be used globally because of exports at Millennium; supply routes have no effect on demand. Moreover, the history of US use of PBR coal indicates that the use oif PBR coal in coal based energy countries will result in a reduction of net GHG given the lower sulfur and other lower GHG emission characteristics of PBR coal; thus, the net gain in greenhouse gas emissions is insignificant.
