I would like to contribute to the public commentary on the Longview port proposal and voice my support for the environmental study. Please support this proposal and help get this project moving. Coal is not toxic in water - coal is not soluble and chemical bonds are only released through burning. The DOE approved water treatment facility at the old Reynolds aluminum site (now MBTL) has large water filters that contain anthracite coal to clean the water. Please note the final water polishing step before being discharged to the river is coal and has been for decades. If the purpose of the Environmental Impact Study is to look at environmental impacts above and beyond what exist at the site today, then no study or change is needed in regards to coal and the water discharge permit. Congratulations on starting the first stage to developing a Draft Environmental Impact Statement. I'm certain the scope will clearly outline a project deserving support. Thank you for accepting public comment in this matter. I hope this project can commence in short order. Sincerely, Ronald Vincent Ronald R. Vincent rvincent@archcoal.com
