Dear Sirs:
In addition to potentially causing train congestion in the NW and shipping congestion on the Salish Sea; this plan for shipping coal to China is problematic. China already has issues with their air quality and SMOG from coal burning. China's SMOG problem impacts their neighbors, including Japan, a developed 3rd world country. Once a year the winds shift seasonally and Japanese folk have air quality warnings and health issues.
At what point do we trade off making money for our integrity? If it wouldn't be acceptable for our "living standards" why is it acceptable for a developing countrie's living standards and the impact of poor quality air on their neighbors?
Decisions cannot be for investment dollars only. They MUST INCLUDE integrity and consistent standards. If it is unsafe for American lungs, it is unsafe for any other lungs!
Namaste (my spirit acknowledges and respects your spirit),
