Please consider my comments on the scope of the proposed Cowlitz County coal export terminal. This is an excellent project and one that will bring broad-ranging economic benefits to Washington and to the national economic outlook for years to come. Unlike many port operations, Millennium occupies a location without immediate residential neighborhoods, AND it is an existing brownfield site. The EIS should acknowledge that alternate locations do not exist for situating an export coal facility with the necessary water and rail access but without "gentrification impacts" from existing or potential residential development at an exiting brownfield site along the Columbia River. We hear a lot of opinions about coal, but the reality of the Millennium Project is that it will have state-of-the-art equipment and best of all will bring life back to a site that has been left stagnant for some time. Coal is my lively hood and I respectfully request you take these comments in consideration. I need this, our economy needs this and I belief the majority of US citizens want it.
