Please begin the environmental study for Millennium Bulk Terminals coal export facility. There are many benefits of the project that the community is waiting for. Stopping the coal terminal will not stop Asia from importing coal, but it will stop them from using high quality coal mined in the United States. Other suppliers on the market will fill this demand with coal that has increased mercury, sulfur and nitrogen oxides. During the scoping process, officials should consider the fact that not one ton more of coal will be used globally because of this project, and the net gain in greenhouse gas emissions is insignificant. We hear a lot of opinions about coal, but the reality of the Millennium Project is that it will have state-of-the-art equipment and best of all will bring life back to a site that has been left stagnant for some time. Many of us would love to have the opportunity to spend our entire career in one place. Millennium is offering that to us. Why not take advantage? If people insist "we can do better" then why haven't we? Sincerely, Janette Weaver jweaver@archcoal.com
