Ports that enable the export of coal not only create temporary and permanent jobs in many areas of the US but supply a critical source of energy to developing nations. What right do we have to say to the rest of the world, that we have our standard of living but now our environmental consciousness dictates that we should deny the same to others. How much in the way of poor health, substandard living conditions and death is acceptable to those that oppose projects such as this? This project needs to be planned, constructed and operated in an environmentally acceptable manner but that can be done. I appreciate the opportunity to add my thoughts to the public comment period. The agencies should proceed to the next phase as quickly as possible. Sincerely, Donald Arrowsmith
