The environmental study for the Cowlitz County port should be completed expeditiously. Any American operation that puts people back to work should be supported in these tough economic times. Cowlitz County has a chronically high unemployment rate. There are environmental impacts of building trades and longshore workers having to travel as far as the Port of Seattle for work on a daily basis, instead of going to a job at Millennium. The impacts and air emissions related to no longer commuting to Seattle and Portland for work should be noted as an environmental benefit of the project. The agencies are doing a great job of evaluating Millennium Bulk Terminals port proposal. I am convinced that this project's permit should move forward without further delay. Sincerely, Chad McKnight Chad McKnight cmcknight@archcoal.com
