EIS Comment Submission On Longview Export Terminal
Dear On Longview Export Terminal,
I strongly oppose the construction of a coal export terminal at Longview, WA which would transport coal on trains and ships throughout the Northwest.
This project would hurt communities in the Northwest by polluting their air and waterways. It would also damage aquatic ecosystems and fishing areas on the Columbia River, increase tanker traffic and the potential for shipping accidents and spills, and expand strip-mining in Wyoming and Montana.
Beyond the local impacts, I am deeply concerned about the effect this project would have on our climate. Allowing tens of millions more tons of coal to burn every year means even more global warming pollution, which will escalate climate change and threaten future generations with even greater environmental and public health risks than we face today.
I urge you to consider these environmental impacts and reject this coal export terminal now.
Sincerely,
Shannin Resendes 2 Kinsdale Blvd Etobicoke, CA 90211
