I would like to add my support to the proposed port at Longview and ask that the environmental study proceed rapidly. Stopping the coal terminal will not stop Asia from importing coal, but it will stop them from using high quality coal mined in the United States. Other suppliers on the market will fill this demand with coal that has increased mercury, sulfur and nitrogen oxides. During the scoping process, officials should consider the fact that not one ton more of coal will be used globally because of this project, and the net gain in greenhouse gas emissions is insignificant. It is clear to me, Millennium Bulk Terminals has a project that will have long-term positive impacts on local and regional economies in Washington. Millennium has maintained and presented ongoing efforts to uphold the current environmental regulations set for its project in Longview. I have good faith and trust this will continue and the company should be allowed to move forward without further delay. Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to comment. Sincerely, George W Lundwall George Lundwall glundwall@selwaycorp.com
