As a home owner in Vancouver WA, approximately 250yds away from the train tracks, I’m very concerned about having more coal trains passing through the NW. We already see negative effects of the coal trains that pass by our home now. Our neighbors already complain about the dust from the present amount of UNCOVERED coal trains sharing their toxic dust with our air and water. We are now negatively affected in many ways by the coal trains and their dust and I’m outraged that there might be many more trains to come. Some of the ways we are now personally affected: Pollution to our backyard organic garden Dust polluting the air we breathe!!!!! Cycling the roads that parallel the tracks I see the coal trains run by and I wonder if exercise is really good for me? Our property values – should we sell our home we have lived in for 18 years? What will it be worth if the trains continue? We are in the fishing business and our waterways will be polluted Water quality for recreation Water quality for drinking Water quality for fish, frogs, birds and all the other creatures that rely on our NW waters The constant noise of longer and additional trains running the tracks
How long till we see the negative health effects of coal dust?
To hear that the amount of Coal Trains will increase is unacceptable. We should demand - Coal trains, at the very least, should be covered !!!
Who is going to pay to clean up our homes and property after all these coal trains pollute our homes and lungs?
Please stop the trains before it is too late!!!!!
