The Coal Train issue really should be visited in several parts. There needs to be a environmental impact statement done for this. There needs to be a study done on the economic impact of not allowing these shipments to happen. This can include a impact to both Canadian and US interests. There might even need to be a study done on engineering aspects of this. Bridge strength studies, soil core sampling across rivers crossed and even the feasibility of inland ports at Kennewick/Pasco Washington or Boardman Oregon. Lastly, grab bag sampling for air quality standards and Safe Drinking Water Act (NPDES) sampling studies need to be done for storm water and stream sampling.
