Dear U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, WA Department of Ecology and Cowlitz County Commission:
I strongly oppose the construction of a coal-export terminal in Longview, Wash. that would transport coal on trains and barges through the Northwest to be exported, sold and burned in Asia.
Why are we trashing the North American environment to send coal to China when the pollution from the Chinese power plants ends up coming back to earth in dirty rain and snow and air in the Pacific Northwest.
I thought the US was working on energy independence, not energy prostitution for China. We need to husband our resources for domestic use.
