I strongly oppose a coal export terminal in Longview, Washington, and the transport of dirty coal on trains and ships through the Northwest.
If there is increased pollution, congestion and noise with more coal train traffic coming down the Columbia River, coal export will be harming our community , polluting our air and local waterways, harming existing businesses, and delaying emergency responders.
The ecosystems and fishing areas on the Columbia River should not be jeopardized by increasing tanker traffic with the potential for shipping accidents and spills. I am opposed to the expansion of strip-mining in Wyoming and Montana, which degrades their environment and escalates climate change.
The SR 432 Project must be analyzed in the Millennium EIS since the coal train traffic impacts in Longview are so great. How can Millennium operate without massive, tax-payer-funded rail infrastructure changes?
I urge you to consider these impacts in the scope of the Environmental Impact Statement. I vote NO.
