In reference to the potential of 34 coal trains through Spokane ... I live near 5-Mile and the noise from trains through Spokane now is very annoying and disruptive to my sleep. My concern is the effect of the increased train noise on visitors staying in downtown hotels as well as the nearby schools, hospitals and businesses. It seems very detrimental to any tourist growth. Also, I read a recent article in the Spokesman Review that China was planning to cut back on coal usage. Would that mean that money spent to put this coal train plan into action would be lost money?
