To the scoping committee. I would like you to include my input for consideration regarding the scoping of the proposed coal handling facility in Longview Washington. I believe that too much political pressure has been applied to the local, state and federal governments regarding the construction and operation of this facility. Those who are tasked with deciding if a proposed bulk handling plant will met the current environmental rules and regulations should stay focused on those “normal” parameters and not be pressured into reviewing a “global political point of view”. Your appropriate decision to keep to the “normal standards of review will allow any company who is willing to risk an investment of capital to come here to Washington State and create jobs. There have been too many years where a vocal minority of people from outside the area have been putting a hold on construction and investments in this area due to the salmon or some other environmental issue.
