MBTL Coal Export Terminal EIS
Dear U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and WA Dept of Ecology, EIS,
Do NOT permit a Longview coal project and terminal, which will increase pollution in the state of Washington.
While I'm not a Washington resident, I do visit often, and treasure Washington's environment, its careful and growing state environmental protections, and the health of my friends who would be directly impacted daily.
This project represents a very bad trade-off between private profit on deals with China and public costs for Americans in the Northwest, and indeed, the whole country. The costs include: congestion and noise, pollution of air and local waterways, harm to existing business, damage to aquatic ecosystems on the treasured Columbia River, increased risk of shipping spills, expanded strip-mining in Wyoming and Montana, and escalation of overall climate change which comes right back home to Washington.
Thank you.
Walter Park San Francisco
Sincerely,
Wawlter Park
