MBTL Coal Export Terminal EIS
Dear U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and WA Dept of Ecology, EIS,
I strongly oppose the construction of a coal export terminal at Longview, WA which would transport coal on trains and ships throughout the Northwest.
Since I live on an island, I can't say that I will be personally inconvenienced by the coal trains, but that really is a small matter compared to the decision it represents to continue business as usual, which will permanently damage our climate for a millenium. To even consider risking this likelihood for the benefit of short term profit for a few wealthy people and some trickle down for the rest of us is utter madness!
I urge you to consider these impacts in the scope of the Environmental Impact Statement. That coal must stay in the ground! We can't afford to send one molecule of it into our atmosphere.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Terry Sullivan
