Dear U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, WA Department of Ecology, and Cowlitz County Commission,
I strongly oppose the construction of a coal terminal in the NW.
As a scientist, father, Amtrack rider and Columbia river wheat farmer, and mountaineer....ans mo matter what the domain, more coal going through the NW is a disaster, an inconvenience and dreadfully shortsighted. Most importantly all available scientific evidence show that easing the transport of this coal willingness and escalate climate change, which many national authorities see as our #1 security risk. The core, should, I hope be taking such threats as seriously: Invite the four to consult the IW study of climate impact in WA and the numerous National Academy of Sciences reports.
It is well past time to make it harder, nor easier to damage the climate and our national security.
Rob Rutherford, PhD Biologist and faculty president Bellevue WA
I urge you to consider these impacts in the scope of the Environmental Impact Statement.
Thank you
