Like the rest of the nation, Washington is suffering economically. I wish to voice my support for the proposed port at Millennium because I would like to see more projects like this be successful so that our economy can benefit. Cowlitz County has a chronically high unemployment rate. There are environmental impacts of building trades and longshore workers having to travel as far as the Port of Seattle for work on a daily basis, instead of going to a job at Millennium. The impacts and air emissions related to no longer commuting to Seattle and Portland for work should be noted as an environmental benefit of the project. As you well know, an EIS is supposed to take a "hard look at environmental consequences" and reach a decision based on the facts presented. The scope of this document should be limited to the immediate impacted areas so we can keep moving forward. Hundreds of people with families are not only waiting but depending on having the security of a long-term, good-paying job. Sincerely, Leticia Rector Lrector@q.com
