As a state, we should be focusing on clean energy sources and promoting infrastructure that supports clean energy. We should not even be discussing adding in terminals to export coal. Not only will it cause environmental damage, but it is also making a poor financial decision to invest in a commodity that is decreasing. If the coal companies are hedging against themselves that coal prices will be decreasing, we should be asking ourselves why we would even consider in investing in anything that is for a decreasing commodity. Please be smart and do not allow any new export terminals for coal along the west coast.
