I do not want fossil fuels traveling through Washington. I do not want coal trains traveling along perhaps the most important natural resource we have - the Columbia River. I do not want fossil fuels to be mined, drilled for then sent outside our country profiting giant corporations and adding to carbon pollution when burned. It is horrifying to know that our State - which has managed to sustain our amazing environment - rainforest, rivers, forests, lakes, ocean front - will be sacrificed for PROFIT. There are no jobs worth signing a long-term death sentence on our existence. There are NO guarantees that spills and accidents will not happen. Imagine one train derailment along the Columbia. Imagine the environmental damage - the fish, which our state and federal governments have spent million of dollars to sustain. If the Columbia is fouled, the fish will not return. There is nothing that makes environmental damage from coal and oil worth it. Nothing! NO NO NO coal port in Longview.
