Thank you for the opportunity to submit a comment regarding the scoping for Millennium Bulk Terminals coal export facility. I strongly support the environmental study and the thousands of jobs this project will create. Coal is not toxic in water - coal is not soluble and chemical bonds are only released through burning. The DOE approved water treatment facility at the old Reynolds aluminum site (now MBTL) has large water filters that contain anthracite coal to clean the water. Please note the final water polishing step before being discharged to the river is coal and has been for decades. If the purpose of the Environmental Impact Study is to look at environmental impacts above and beyond what exist at the site today, then no study or change is needed in regards to coal and the water discharge permit. I appreciate the opportunity to add my thoughts to the public comment period. The agencies should proceed to the next phase as quickly as possible. Sincerely, Dave Ritchey Ritchey Liuna335@gmail.com
