Dear U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, WA Department of Ecology and Cowlitz County Commission:
I was born in Washington State nearly 65 years ago, and I DEMAND THAT YOU PROTECT OUR ENVIRONMENT FROM HORRIBLE POLLUTION!!!!!!!!!!!
SHAME on out-of-state corporations that want to RUIN OUR PRECIOUS ENVIRONMENT FOR THEIR SHORT-TERM GREED!!!!!!!!
I have talked with MANY DOZENS OF WASHINGTONIANS who all agree in STRONGLY OPPOSING the construction of a coal-export terminal in Longview, on the Columbia River. The terminal would receive coal from the Montana-Wyoming area and RISK POLLUTION ALL ALONG THE WAY, before it RISKS ADDITIONAL POLLUTION in Longview and on the Columbia River.
RIVERS, STREAMS, FISH, BIRDS, MANY KINDS OF ANIMALS, FARMLANDS, AND THE AIR WE BREATHE ARE ALL AT SERIOUS RISK.
Then when the coal is BURNED IN ASIA< ONLY TO FLOAT BACK IN THE WINDS AND ATMOSPHERE TO HURT OUR AIR QUALITY AND RUIN OUR CLIMATE.
The Environmental Impact Statement's SCOPE MUST INCLUDE ALL OF THESE COMPLEX AND INTERRELATED FACTORS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This would also RIP OFF THE TAXPAYERS, because heavy coal train shopments would require MASSIVE SUBSIDIES BY TAXPAYERS TO REPAIR DAMAGE TO RAILS AND ROADS, including the S.R. 432 Project.
I implore you to SERIOUSLY CONSIDER EACH ONE OF MY COMMENTS and FULLY ADDRESS their implications when preparing your E.I.S.
