The Honorable Millennium Bulk Terminal EIS

Dear null EIS:

The fact is that the Army Corps of Engineers has outlived its usefulness. There is currently no Federal process commensurate with the challenges and decisions we face as a State, Region/Bioregion, country or global community.

Your expansive approach affirms that the "Jobs VS Environment" frame offered by the corporations behind turning the Pacific NW and Salish Sea into a fossil fuel corridor to Asia is a false choice. All workers have an interest in the future health of our environment and living wage, meaningful work is part of creating a sustainable energy and transport infrastructure in Washington State and beyond. Rail is part of the sustainable economy as are healthy ports, fisheries, rivers and farmland.

The boom and bust mindset of the extractive industry and its transport collaborators is an outdated frontier economy mindset. Its colonial style infrastructure harms workers and endangers the beautiful place that we are blessed with and responsible to steward. Lauri Hennessey and other corporate shills from corporate PR firms are blinded by the greed and servitude to their paymasters. Their corporate paymasters have consistently discounted worker concerns and interests, so their posing as allies of working people is a transparent charade that will crumble upon inspection.

Working people of this region know in their hearts that their long term well being and the well being of future generations demands a forward looking plan that serves both the environment and the economy.

Thank you again for taking that stewardship seriously. Despite all the challenges that lay ahead, future generations will

Bill Moyer (4th generation Washingtonian) Backbone Campaign Vashon, WA
