I urge you to NOT permit the coal export facility which is planned by Millennium Bulk Terminals for Longview. It would be terrible for traffic along the route, and worse for the environment both at home and globally. The mitigation will not be enough to prevent delays, some of them life threatening, as long, filthy coal trains pass through our communities. The almost certain spills, both major and minor, of coal and coal dust along the tracks and into our waterways, will cause problems for the health of the people nearby, as well as for the ecosystem. With the negative results of climate change becoming increasingly obvious, we should not be helping China, or anyone else for that matter, to a source of cheap coal.
Look at ALL of the aspects of this plan, and say NO to coal export through our state and region!
