To Whom It May Concern:

A coal terminal at Longview, WA, or anywhere on the West Coast is a terrible idea. First, it will increase coal production in Montana and Wyoming. This nation should be decreasing its coal production, both for domestic use and for export. Coal is a very dirty energy source. Second, transporting that coal, either down the Columbia River, or by rail, will cause local air pollution from coal dust. An environmental disaster would occur if a coal barge sunk in the river, or if a coal train derailed or crashed. Third, this administration should keep its word. President Obama spoke about reducing greenhouse gases, a couple of months ago. Shipping coal to the Far East would increase greenhouse gas production. This is a global problem, and burning coal thousands of miles from the West Coast would still affect us here. Thank you for your consideration.
