I live Just across the river in White Salmon, WA. The decisions of both Governor Kitzaber & Governor Inslee will affect me. Why are we not just stopping this permit application dead in its tracts immediately? Why are we allowing plumes of coal dust to invade our lungs, our waters, cover drivers windshields and ultimately allowing worldwide pollution to increase by sending it to other countries? Does someone driving along the Gorge have to die? Do we have to worry about going outside near the Gorge because the air could be contaminated? Will we no longer be able to fish in Lakes e.g Horsethief Lake because the fish are contaminated? Are we, as a nation going to say, yes, because it means money for workers and corporations, we will send our pollution to you China? Are we going to say, there is no other way these workers (25, I'm told) can find jobs. Can't we help them stop mining coal & help them find other jobs? Can't we say, Ambre Energy, go home?
