This is my comment regarding the proposed Cherry Point/Bellingham terminal. The exact same sentiments apply to the Longview proposal, with the exception of waiting longer to make up my mind:

I have waited till the end of the timeframe to post my comment because I couldn't decide what was the most important issue. I have been following the discussions from many points of view, and I find that I agree wholeheartedly with those who bring up the many, many problems with this proposal from the environmental and health standpoints. There is really, to my mind, no one thing that's the stake through its heart, but the problem is in the idea from the get-go.

We must make less coal burning happen in the world, not more. To haul this coal from Wyoming (or wherever) to the West Coast and then to China (or other faroff place it might end up) is just plain immoral and foolhardy. The scope of the EIS process must include the alternative of just saying No to the whole project's idea, and that is the alternative that makes sense.

Thank you for considering my views.
