I oppose the development of the Millennium Bulk Terminals -Longview LLC Project for several reasons. The first one is the pollution that the project will create. Secondly, we shouldn't be sending our needed resources to other countries.
The pollution that the project creates is going to affect us in two different ways. Shipping it from Wyoming by rail will cause more traffic delays while the trains pass, which will put more hydrocarbons and carbon dioxide in the air. Then, when it's burned in Asia, the pollution will come back across the Pacific to the West Coast as has happened before with emissions from China.
Coal isn't something that we can regenerate after we sell it to another country. If we need the resources here, they won't be available and aren't replaceable. We should preserve the coal we have in case we need it later.
The project is not a good idea because of these points and many others. Please take my comments in consideration before making your final decision and regretting it later.
