I would like to add my support to the proposed port at Longview and ask that the environmental study proceed rapidly.
The lead agencies should conduct a local study on our environment. It's unrealistic and unprecedented to conduct a cradle-to-grave EIS that studies the harvesting, development or manufacturing of a product or commodity to and including the end use of the product or commodity. Using the wheat export terminals as an example, the Department of Ecology did not require the study of nationwide rail impacts, nor the end usage of the wheat at its destination.
It is clear to me, Millennium Bulk Terminals has a project that will have long-term positive impacts on local and regional economies in Washington. Millennium has maintained and presented ongoing efforts to uphold the current environmental regulations set for its project in Longview. I have good faith and trust this will continue and the company should be allowed to move forward without further delay. Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to comment.
Sincerely, Kirk Downer email@example.com
