Sep 18, 2013

US Army Corps of Engineers, Cowlitz County, Washington Department of Ecology WA

Dear Washington Department of Ecology,

Please accept these scoping comments for the environmental impact statement for the Millennium Bulk Terminal (MBTL) proposal for Longview, WA.

Dear Governors, Officials of all groups, US Army Corps of Engineers and all others,

I am writing to ask that you do everything you can to prevent coal from being shipped from our country to Asia.

The jobs generated by shipping coal to Asia will amount to nothing compared with the damage it will cause to the environment of the world. Preventing the acidification of our ocean and the economic havoc it will cause will more than make up for the jobs lost to the coal companies.

The shipment of coal to Asia will add to the pollution which Americans have been trying with great difficulty and expense to reduce in our country and transfer the pollution to Asia. Wether the burning of coal originates in this country or another we will all be impacted the same.

The coal companies have only their short term goal of profits in mind. The history of polluting the environment of our world for quick profits desperately needs to be controlled for the benefit of all of humanity.

Let's not allow the coal companies to justify their exploitive agenda at the expense of our global climate and the well being of the rest of the world.

Please, do not allow coal shipped through any part of the United States for shipment to Asia or anywhere else.

Thank you,

Robert E. Swope

Sincerely,

Mr. Robert Swope 16191 Tieton Dr Yakima, WA 98908-8021 (509) 965-2561
