I would like this project addressed on a global perspective as well as the local communities. Specifically, the impact of exporting coal that will become carbon emissions, the increase in ocean acidification, global warming, rising sea levels, and NOAA carbon dioxide rise. These global concerns should be analyzed to assess the impact on Washington and Oregon such as coastal oyster/shellfish and fisheries industries. Additionally, the impact of shoreline property loss, structural damage, and relocation, mitigation and more should be assessed.
Western US assessment should include all train and barge traffic that will effect the immediate areas of Longview, Kalama, Woodland, Ridgefield, Vancouver, as well as those areas in Oregon along the Columbia River. Local community impact should further extend to the coal source and entire transportation corridor. Care and impact should be assessed and weighed regarding accidents, health concerns, Columbia River impact, and proximity to auto corridors.
I find it hard to believe that any fair assessment of this project will favor anything but a denial of this toxic plan.
